  2. Subj: tls058b - vbiosd and pciinfo fixes for 32-bit i/o BIOS machines

  5. The vbiosd.tar.Z file here is a fix to:
  6.

  8. rwxr-xr-x  2/2    60312 Sep 19 13:01 1994 ./usr/lib/vidconf/scripts/pciinfo

  10. For problems with machines that have 32 bit I/O in their BIOS.
  11. Previous pciinfo and vbiosd could not work with 32 bit BIOS.
  12. The previous error occurred during graphics configuration
  13. with a cryptic error about BIOS int 17 call failing,
  14. illegal operand 0x66.  Something like that.
  15.  
  16. A successful graphics configuration should create a usable
  17. grafinfo file in /usr/lib/grafinfo/<card vendor>/<?>.xgi
  18. from the pci template in /usr/lib/grafinfo/<card vendor>/<?>.tmpl
  19.  
  20. These are considered Beta test at the moment until we have more
  21. confirmation that they are working.  Anyone using these should
  22. report back to rogerv@sco.COM on success AND failure.  Screen
  23. switching, or Merge zooming, to cause graphics<->text mode
  24. switches are good tests of vbiosd.

  26. To install, please save your current vbiosd and pciinfo
  27. files by moving them aside.  Then, as root, in /
  28.  
  29.     tar xvf tls058b.tar
